Hotel in Athens

The building, formerly owned by the Greek afternoon newspaper Apogevmatini, is a distinctive example of urban architecture, combining classical aesthetics with neoclassical influences. Its façade is characterized by light-colored stone cladding, symmetrical openings, decorative mouldings, wrought-iron balconies, and large arched openings at ground-floor level, which contribute to its elegant appearance and distinctive architectural identity.

As part of the proposed redevelopment, the building is planned to be converted into a hotel, adapting it to contemporary hospitality requirements. The proposed change of use aims to preserve its distinctive architectural features while introducing a new functional identity. This project represents an approach to the adaptive reuse of existing building stock, seeking to highlight the building’s architectural value while integrating it into the city’s contemporary urban and tourism development.
